I hate feeling like this!

I’m not having a good day today.. I’m not a moaner or a whinger but today I feel crap!

Yesterday afternoon I decided to leave my shiny new car at home and have a nice long walk to the retail park to take back the car seat cover I’d bought as it was far too small.

I got caught in the rain but that didn’t bother me as my skin doesn’t leak!!
After doing what I had to and having a nosey in PC World for some dinky ear phones for my laptop, I set off home.

As I got about half way home I felt weird!! The fainty weird I often get. I stopped off at Asda and sat for a little bit until I felt I wasn’t going to make a fool of myself and land in a heap on the pavement!! Boy was I glad to finally reach home.

My head was pounding so I took a couple of painkillers and laid on the sofa. I know this feeling well, its one I’ve had ever since finishing chemo 2 years ago. I’m so light headed and nauseous, I daren’t stand up as I’m scared to faint, I have to hold onto walls and furniture just in case. Why has it decided to happen this weekend when I’m home alone?

My Oncologist has told me that chemotherapy can have long lasting side effects as it can attack the nerve endings and different people get different side effects, mine been this fainting thing grrrrrrrr. It happens a lot to be honest but yesterdays event was scary.

I went to bed and slept like a log but woke up feeling just as bad. I have been as sick as a dog and also have the runs!! I tell ya, I don’t do things by halves. I am now laid on the sofa tapping away on my laptop with Molly & Bertie by my side, bless them they’ve followed me from room to room as they know I’m having a bad time. This afternoon I’m going to watch my favourite film of all time “Fried Green Tomatoes at The Whistle Stop CafĂ©”.

Midweek Musings

Last night i had the best nights sleep i've had in weeks... i took 2 sleeping pills at about 11.30pm and didn't wake up until 12.00 noon!!

I think Dave thought i'd died haha. I felt absolutely brilliant today. We took the dogs for a walk and we walked just over a mile.

I had a lovely email too from a friend who has just moved in with her boyfriend. So happy for her, they make a great couple and i told them this before they were even together!
She used to be with someone who i also loved to bits... And he was with someone i loved to bits too, but both couples split up and these 2 got together.
He plays ice hockey and used to play for my team. It was great to hear from them both and also that they've invited us both to go and stay with them too.

I really need to go and watch him play again just so he can hear my dulcit tones as i shout for him ;-) he misses that hahahaha. oh and i need him to sign a hockey jersey i have of his too.

Oooo almost forgot. I went to get weighed last night at Slimming World, i couldn't stay as i was going out but as i got on the scales i had good news.... I lost 1 1/2lb last week... thats 1 stone since the 7th January.... Janice is going to give me my award next week in class as she wants everyone to know.

After getting the good news i drove us both to the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle to Rob Wilson's testimonial. what a great night, even if it was meant to start at 7.15 and didn't start til about 8.. The night was meant to be a fun night and it sure was with Dave Simms, he of Sheffield Steelers, on the microphone!

The night finally ended about 10pm for us but some fans and the players were off to a bar in the town centre for a party. Bet there were a few sore heads this morning.. Here's hoping Newcastle Vipers players have sobered up for tonight as they play Manchester Phoenix.

Walking my weight off Hopefully)

On Monday I had some things to get from the next town.. My car sat there but I decided as it was a crisp winters day, I’d walk.

I love walking anyway so it wasn’t a problem. I did what I had to and bought what I had to and started walking home.. Brrrrrrr head wind and boy was it cold. I walked briskly to get home quicker. Later that night as I tried to stand up, the front of my thighs absolutely killed me.. I suppose the 2 mile walk must have done me some good.

Yesterday Myself and Dave went for a walk to Tesco’s for a few bits and bobs, a 3 mile round trip. The dogs came too, we walked briskly through fields and on dry land too! Coming home I could feel my legs tightening again just like on Monday, also my stomach hurt a bit like my thighs did.. I hope its because I haven’t done much exercise recently and my stomach muscles are starting to work and that I’ve not given myself another blooming hernia as I really couldn’t face yet another operation on my stomach.

I’m going to rest a bit and see if it settles down but anyone reading my blog, I’d appreciate your input on the muscle and stomach situation please.
