Last week after chatting to a friend, I looked into Postcrossing. Basically you register to the website and send and receive postcards from total strangers from all over the world.
On Monday i hit the magic button that tells me a code and an address of a person to send a card to.
The first address to appear was from Belgium. I can send upto 5 postcards at a time and as soon as one of them is registered as been received using the special code we are given, i get a message to say its arrived and that i can send another card.
The next out of the box was Canada
Then Taiwan, which is apparently 9.622km away from where i am. and the furthest i’ve posted as yet.
the 4th place i had to send one to was Russia and each time i got a new address i smiled as its quite exciting not knowing who your posting cards to and also that they at their end are smiling too at receiving one.
My final address of the day was in Germany
Since posting them last Monday, 2 have been received which meant i could ask for 2 more addresses. So i have now posted a card to Costa Rica & The Czech Republic
As yet i haven’t received any back but as soon as i do i’ll blog about it. I’m quite interested in other cultures and am so excited at the thought of the postman dropping a wonderful postcard from somewhere in the world, onto my door mat.
I recommend you all to take a look at Postcrossing what a wonderful way to learn about the rest of the world.
well that must be my new thing for the day, as I have never ever heard of postcrossing. I am not going to click on the link, as I really, really don't need to get into anything new at the moment, as I barely have enough time in the day as it is.
