I am grinning from ear to ear just now..
Four years ago i had to move home to get away from my then partner who decided that because i had cancer and had lost all my hair… He could beat me up! I was far too ugly for him and very off putting too.. all my fault for getting ill eh?
The flat i moved to wasn’t exactly a palace and most certainly wasn’t in a nice area of town but it saved my life. I lived amongst people on drugs, people who where dependant on alcohol and ladies of the night… Not the kind of area i was used to at all and i was so embarrassed to let people know where i lived.
Anyway, all has changed. I now live on the outskirts of the city in a small market town which is gorgeous. I moved in last week so everything has been rather hectic.
One downfall though is that i can no longer go to the gym as i used to walk there every day but from here it is 10 miles away and as i’m not driving at the moment because of my peripheral neuropathy and my inner ear balance situation, it was a no goer. I am going to enquire at my new doctors though as i really enjoyed my daily workout even though it wasn’t as strenuous as the rest of the gym members. I think, to be honest, me getting out of the damp old flat was more important to my health, wellbeing and mental state.
Molly & Bertie love having a garden to run around in and stay out there most of the time popping in every now and then to collect a toy to play with.
I have a lot to do inside my house as there are no carpets or curtains. I currently have rugs down and newspaper at the windows!! I’ll get there in the end i’m sure but for now i’m a happy chappy in my wonderful new home.
And the best of good luck be with you in your new home! ♥
ReplyDeleteI have tears in my eyes and i read your happy story to my husband. I am so happy for you to get out of your flat. before i married my husband, i lived in 2 places like what you describe, that allows me to relate. your smiley face has made me smile. i will pray for you and your new place. congrats on your new home.
ReplyDeleteTracey, I tried to leave a comment on the current post, but it just wouldn't work. Thank you so much for giving me the award.
ReplyDeleteI am glad to see that you are happily settled in your new home and I hope everything will continue to go according to plan. Best of luck.
So thrilled for you my friend...now, think about a bike. 10 miles on a bike takes just over an hour at a reasonable pace, and is exercise in itself. You can stay off the roads if you plan the route, and you can trundle along at your own speed - no parking costs either ;)
ReplyDeletethe new home will grow by the day - no panic is there? keep the newspaper until the perfect curtain catches your eye :)

enjoy your new home and be happy!!
ReplyDeletegreat post!
You sound like a very brave lady! I have several disabilities though none as bad as yours. My RA did get bad enough that both knees had to be replaced and the Fibromyalgia sometimes is hard as is the IBS and the IC (chronic bladder pain) I am on pain management but even with all that sometimes it does not help. I wish you all the luck in the world. I am following you thru GFC and would love a follow back when you get the chance. I also wanted to say this is a very cheerful bright blog! I love the colors of purple and lavender. Have a great weekend filled with peace and joy.
