It seems now i'm hearing of allsorts of places i could have actually gone and felt like a woman again instead of looking butch!!
Anyway, i felt i'd like to share this website i discovered today, we go through so much having Cancer and deserve to be pampered.. just wish i'd have known about it 2 years ago.
Look Good, Feel Better
Bah that sucks. it's brilliant. I was offered it through 'Force', our local cancer support centre. They are amazing, and find every little thing that could help you. I am still having free treatments [massage, aromatherapy etc] at the Force centre now. And Andrew is also entitled to the treatments, as the 'carer' [poor bugger!]. We can have them for up to a year after the final chemo.
ReplyDeleteI wish you'd have been offered this kind of thing - as they say in the ad: You deserve it!
One thing though - you look great now! :o)
x
Tracey, that is so great that you posted the link. I am finding myself feeling increasingly more and more frustrated with the lack of information we, as patients, receive. Our cancer centre offers a look good, feel better session, but there are so many things out there that no one communicates to us. I am on a mission to change that! Don't have a clue where to begin, but I am on a mission ;) (want to join me?)
ReplyDeleteWhen I was first diagnosed, I went to a Look Good, Feel Good ... slightly different name ... at our Cancer Institute. I got a whole bag of make up and some head gear.
ReplyDeleteYes highly recommend this ... made me feel a little more feminine.
Hi Tracey. Great site, by the way and thanks for looking at mine! In Canada we have these Look Good Feel Better programs, too. I attended one three days before my hair fell out after my first chemo. I was having a hard time anticipating that, so I walked into the room depressed and on the verge of tears. By the time I left two hours later, I was laughing, had heard some super stories, decided I looked a twit in a wig and walked out of there looking and feeling a lot better! I would highly recommend these sessions. I came home with about $300 worth of product, too, which was a nice surprise! x
